A new wave of Pokémon content is coming!

During Tuesday’s Pokémon Presents livestream, The Pokémon Company announced a range of exciting updates across games, animation, and the trading card world.

While some of it is already here, fans will have to wait a bit longer for the biggest reveals. Here’s what you need to know:

Pokémon Champions’ (Coming 2026)

One of the most anticipated reveals is ‘Pokémon Champions,’ a new game focused entirely on battles. It’s coming in 2026 to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, iOS, and Android. While the game isn’t available yet, fans got a first look at how it works.

Players will be able to:

  • Compete in three types of battles: Ranked (competitive), Casual, and Private (with friends).
  • Battle solo or with a partner (single or double battles).
  • Test and recruit Pokémon using a new system that rewards victories.

It’s designed for competitive fans, but anyone can jump in and build a dream team.

‘Pokémon Legends: Z-A’ (Coming October 16, 2025)

A new trailer for ‘Pokémon Legends: Z-A’ revealed major updates, including the return of Mega Evolutions — powerful transformations for certain Pokémon. A new Mega form, Mega Dragonite, was also introduced.

The storyline centers around mysterious wild Pokémon that are Mega Evolving on their own and causing chaos in the city of Lumiose. Players will investigate these events while helping citizens and completing side quests.

The game will be available on both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

‘Pokémon Friends’ (Available Now)

‘Pokémon Friends’ is a relaxing new puzzle game that launched this week. Players solve brainteasers to earn plush Pokémon, decorate a virtual room, and complete daily challenges. It’s available now on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu (Coming 2027)

A teaser was released for a new stop-motion animated series created with Aardman (the studio behind Wallace & Gromit). The show, debuting in 2027, promises a charming and comedic look at the Pokémon world.

Pokémon Concierge Season 2 (Coming September 4)

The Netflix stop-motion series Pokémon Concierge is back for more episodes this fall. A new trailer shows what’s next for Haru and her ever-anxious partner Psyduck.
