The Nintendo Switch 2’s first Pokémon title, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, will officially release on Oct. 16, 2025. Pokémon Company International announced on Wednesday that the game will be available on the Switch with players given the choice to retrieve the Switch 2 edition via an upgrade pack. Digital pre-orders for Pokémon Legends: Z-A will begin on June 5 — the same day the Nintendo Switch 2 releases to the masses.
The Pokémon Company also announced that a new Pokémon Presents livestream is scheduled for July 22, 2025. The stream will include “the latest updates and news from the world of Pokémon.”
It wasn’t explicitly stated whether the information would be all about Legends: Z-A, but with the game arriving in five months, it would be fair to think that the Pokémon Presents would have at least some information about the forthcoming title.
While trainers wait, they can get their Pokémon fix via new mega evolution merchandise in Pokémon Centers across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom starting May 28. Per an official press release, new merchandise includes giant pins featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y, and a capsule collection featuring the might (and swag) of Mega Venusaur, Mega Gengar, Mega Lucario, and more.
