Carnival Cruise Line‘s Carnival Venezia will be saying buongiorno to Miami. The cruise line’s “fun Italian style” ship has been summering in New York since joining the fleet in 2023, but that will change when the ship heads to PortMiami as part of its 2027-2028 sailing season.

The news was announced on October 1—the same day it opened sales for all PortMiami bookings through 2028, along with Carnival Magic and Carnival Vista.

“Carnival Venezia moving to Miami creates even more choice for our guests with longer itineraries to the most popular Caribbean destinations and adds a new flavor of fun with our ‘Italian Style’ experiences,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

The 4,000-passenger Venezia originally sailed under Carnival’s Costa Cruises, the corporation’s cruise line catering to the Italian market, along with sister ship, Firenze. Both were re-outfitted to include more of Carnival’s signature amenities and restaurants’ lineup (Venezia in 2023 and Firenze in 2024 respectively), but retained their Venice- and Florence-inspired vibes.

Venezia’s Venice-inspired touches include the ship’s atrium “Piazza San Marco” and its restaurant selection, including its sit-down venues, Marco Polo, Canal Grande, La Strada Grill and upscale Il Viaggio, pizza at Pizzeria Del Capitano, plus more Italian-inspired food options at Guy’s Burger Joint and Tomodoro.

The Italian influence also extends to entertainment venues, including upscale cocktails at Amari, Frizzante bubbly lounge, Carnevale Bar & Lounge for fine Italian wines and red-velvet-curtain-style shows at Teatro Rosso. “Terrazza” staterooms, which feature private-lounge access, complete the taste-of-Venice ambiance.

Guests aboard the Venezia will also have the signature lineup of Carnival restaurants and amenities to try, including Bonsai Teppanyaki, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, Piano Bar 88 and Serenity Bar, as well as Carnival’s popular WaterWorks park.

With the port change, Venezia will now have the opportunity to head to the Eastern Caribbean for 6-day cruises, with stops at Celebration Key, Amber Cove and Grand Turk, 7-day Western Caribbean sailings with stops at Montego Bay and Grand Cayman and 8-day trips to the Southern Caribbean, with port calls at Bonaire and Curaçao.
