Porter Airlines is set to launch its first-ever non-stop flights to an island destination this year from two major cities in Canada.
The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) has announced that Porter Airlines will have service to the Cayman Islands from Toronto and Ottawa.
This milestone move marks an exciting expansion for both the airline and Canadian travellers looking for a seamless escape to the tropics.
Travelling from Toronto
According to the group, the new routes will launch from Toronto Pearson International Airport three times a week starting on Dec. 16, 2025.
“Canadian travel interest in the Cayman Islands is steadily growing, and now passengers can enjoy Porter’s award-winning hospitality in every aspect of the flight experience,” says Andrew Pierce, vice-president, network planning and reporting.
“From the moment passengers step onto a Porter flight, they’re treated to a level of service that complements the charm and sophistication of the destination.”
Travelling from Ottawa
Those travelling from Ottawa International Airport will see flights once a week, starting Dec. 19, 2025.
The Ottawa flight marks the first-ever non-stop service to the Cayman Islands from Canada’s capital. How great is that?
“We are thrilled to welcome Porter Airlines to the Cayman Islands with its inaugural non-stop service from two key Canadian gateways,” said Mrs. Rosa Harris, director of tourism for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.
“We look forward to welcoming even more Canadians this winter to enjoy our stunning beaches, vibrant culture, superb cuisine, and warm Caymanian hospitality.”
Porter will fly its Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which is known for being the quietest and most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft in its class, according to Porter Airlines.
It features 132 seats in an all-economy configuration with no middle seats. There’s also complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, premium snacks, and free high-speed Wi-Fi.
Now it sounds like it’s time to start planning that trip.
Cayman Islands, here we come.
