The ongoing drama around the Beckham family has only continued to make national headlines, with many media outlets wondering about the seemingly icy relationship between Brooklyn Beckham and his legendary soccer player father, David.
In a recent turn of events, however, the 26-year-old Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz attended a dinner at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s home in Montecito California. According to People magazine, the dinner was part of a larger gathering of individuals close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“While it was an intimate gathering, there were several additional guests, including VIPs and film executives, Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time and found Harry and Meghan to be particularly kind, caring and generous,” a source told People.
The couple’s interaction with the royals come in the wake of recent rumors rooted around Brooklyn’s estranged relationship to the Beckham family. In particular, People confirmed that Brooklyn and Peltz decided to skip David Beckham’s recent 50th birthday celebration, despite receiving a formal invitation to attend.
According to People‘s source, the dynamic between the Beckhams has indeed been strained in recent months, although the insider has said the relationship is “definitely not beyond repair.”
“They love and are always there for him,” the source said of David and his wife Victoria’s current view of their son. “They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”
The sentiments echo Prince Harry’s own frosty relationship with his father King Charles. In a recent bombshell interview with the BBC, the 40-year-old Duke of Sussex claimed that the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom “won’t speak to me,” after Harry and Meghan’s public fallout with the royal family.
In Harry’s interview, however, the prince said that he’d be open to once again coming together with Charles and the rest of the royals, telling the BBC, “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
