Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, a hotel that has achieved Verified Net Zero status. The hotel is located in the heart of Oslo and features 118 redesigned guest rooms along with various social spaces and meeting facilities.

The property has rebranded from the Park Inn by Radisson. It now meets the 2040 requirements of the Net Zero Methodology for Hotels, verified by TÜV Rheinland. This development is part of Radisson Hotel Group’s broader strategy to reach Net Zero by 2050.

The hotel is powered entirely by renewable energy, including city district heating sourced from sustainable methods such as waste-to-energy and data center heat recovery. This eliminates Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Additionally, the hotel has implemented measures to reduce Scope 3 emissions through its operations and supply chains, particularly in areas such as food and beverage, laundry, and waste management.

The hotel offers a range of amenities, including a renovated gym and six meeting rooms equipped with modern audiovisual technology and high-speed Wi-Fi. It is situated near key Oslo landmarks such as the Oslo Opera House and the Munch Museum, providing guests with convenient access to the city’s attractions.

Radisson RED Oslo City Centre is the second Verified Net Zero hotel by Radisson Hotel Group, following a similar opening in Manchester earlier this year. The hotel’s Verified Net Zero status is visible through initiatives like low-carbon menus, zero-waste practices, and the use of digital tools to minimize paper consumption.

Remaining emissions are offset with carbon removal certificates from Nature Based Solutions, in collaboration with Agreena, which supports regenerative practices across European farmland.

The hotel aims to offer guests an environmentally conscious stay, with features such as glass water bottles, bulk bathroom amenities, and recycling bins in all rooms and public areas. The property also provides digital concierge services to enhance the guest experience while reducing environmental impact.
