Raptors sign Barton, waive Hernangomez

TORONTO – The Toronto Raptors signed guard Will Burton and waived forward Juancho Hernangomez in his place, the team announced Tuesday.
At 6-foot-5 and weighing 180 pounds, Burton averaged 7.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 19.6 minutes in 40 games with the Washington Wizards this season.

Burton was waived by the Wizards on Feb. 21. In the 2021-22 season he made 71 starts and after he scored 14.7 points per game, he played with the Nuggets in the off-season from Denver after more than seven seasons. Traded to Washington.
Burton averaged 11.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 25.5 minutes in 663 games.
Hernangomez, who signed a one-year, $2.2 million contract with the Raptors last summer, averaged 2.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 14.6 minutes in 10 games in 42 games this season.
Over his seven-year career, he averaged 5.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 15.5 minutes in 339 games.
