Pascal Siakam posted 29 points and 8 rebounds in a 95-91 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday afternoon as the Toronto Raptors won their fourth straight game.
Gary Trent Jr. scored 19 points and Scotty Barnes added 12 as the Raptors won their seventh in eight games. Precious Achiuwa scored 10 goals as a substitute.
Detroit’s Marvin Bagley III had a season-high 21 points and 18 rebounds in his first game since breaking his right hand on Jan. 2.
Isaiah Rivers, Hamidou Diallo and Bojan Bogdanovic each gave the Pistons 11 points after losing four straight. James Weisman added 10 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out, while Jaden Ivey had 10 points and 10 assists.
Both teams scored 22 points in the first and second quarters, but the Raptors finished the third quarter with a 9-1 run and a 71-70 lead. Toronto extended it to eight points, but the Pistons responded with an 8-0 spurt to tie the score again.
Trent’s 3-pointer with 2:38 left gave the Raptors an 89-86 advantage. Ivey made two free throws in his final minute to keep Detroit within one of him.
Bagley missed a shot in the lane that could have given Detroit the lead before Siakam made two free throws with 11 seconds remaining.
Bagley split the free throw with 4.1 seconds remaining, and Siakam made two more free throws to seal the win for Toronto.
