Ree Drummond’s fans couldn’t stop laughing after seeing the way that she chose to bring a popular social media trend to life.
The Pioneer Woman host was handling babysitting duties for her newborn granddaughter this weekend when she filmed the video that she posted on Instagram on Saturday, Jan. 11. Drummond became a grandmother last month with the arrival of Sofia, her daughter Alex’s first child.

Drummond, 56, started the video by aiming her camera at an open refrigerator and reaching in to search for some cheese. After removing a few slices from a bag, she closed the refrigerator door and swung the camera to her left to face George, Alex’s dog.
The Food Network star slowly reached out to offer the golden retriever a piece—which he accepted gently—all while the song “Cheese Tax” played over the footage. Many social media users have similarly paired the popular track with videos of their own cheese offerings for their four-legged friends.

“Babysitting Sofia (and George. 🐶🧀),” Drummond wrote to caption her post. “There may be no cheese left in the morn.”
Alex, 27, left a top-liked comment on the post as she asked, “How many cheese taxes have you paid tonight 😂.”
Fans quickly jumped to Drummond’s defense, with one commenting, “Grandma is allowed to spoil her grands with no questions asked 😂😂😂” as another agreed, writing, “what happens with gma stays with gma!”

Several Instagram users praised the “Hilarious 😆” video, with one dubbing it “Too funny” as another thanked Drummond “for making me smile. ☀️.”
