Reese Witherspoon looks back on how her friendship with The Morning Show co-star Jennifer Aniston has grown over the years.

The Hollywood A-listers are among the stars who formed a special bond on set and have remained close ever since.

25 years after their first meeting on the set of Friends, the Legally Blonde star praised her working relationship with Aniston and reflected on how they evolved from co-stars to executive producers of The Morning Show.

“It’s been incredible to watch yourself grow and encourage each other to step into a leadership role,” she toldEntertainment Tonight during the show’s season four premiere in New York City.

At the height of the iconic NBC sitcom, Witherspoon made a two-episode cameo as Rachel Green’s younger sister, Jill Green.

The guest appearance sparked a connection between the two stars, laying the foundation for a lasting friendship that later led to their collaborations on Apple TV+’s drama series.

The mother of two admitted that she never imagined they would be working together behind the camera after her guest appearance.

“If you had told either one of us, I think, when we were doing Friends, that we would be co-starring in and producing a show together, I think we would have said, ‘You’re nuts. That’s bananas!’ But it’s so fun,” the actress added.

The Murder Mystery star shared the same feelings, calling it a “wonderful” experience to witness and noting how they have grown up together.

“Being able to see where we were when we began and what we’re doing today, it gets me very emotional about it,” she said, adding, “It’s a tricky business. We were so grateful just to get any jobs and let alone be here 25 years later. It’s quite special.”

Apart from playing Alex Levy, a seasoned journalist and one of the main anchors of the morning news program and the ambitious and outspoken rising journalist Bradley Jackson, Aniston for Echo Films and Witherspoon for Hello Sunshine also serve as executive producers of The Morning Show.

As for the upcoming season, set to release on Sept. 17, returning cast members include Mark Duplass, Nicole Beharie, Nestor Carbonell, Greta Lee, Jon Hamm, Billy Crudup, Karen Pittman alongside new additions such as Oscar winner Jeremy Irons, Boyd Holbrook of Narcos and French actress Marion Cotillard as Celine Dumont who is described as “a savvy operator from a storied European family.”
