Rixos Murjana has officially opened in King Abdullah Economic City, with the Tourism Development Fund as financier and investor, in partnership with Emaar Economic City and FTG company as project developer.
Rixos Murjana, described as Saudi Arabia’s largest ultra all-inclusive resort, has opened in King Abdullah Economic City. The project was enabled by the Tourism Development Fund, which served as the financier and investor, in partnership with Emaar Economic City, the master developer of King Abdullah Economic City, and FTG company, the developer.
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage and in the presence of Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Development Fund, with attendance from Qusai Al-Fakhri, Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Development Fund, and Fettah Tamince, Chairman of the Board of Rixos Hotels.
The resort features 488 rooms and suites, many with sea views, and 33 villas. Facilities include hospitality, leisure, and wellness amenities, a full fitness center, a sports complex expansion, and meeting and conference spaces. The resort is expected to create 250 jobs for Saudis.
Rixos Murjana includes Club Privé by Rixos, an ultra-exclusive villa offering butler services and overwater villas, as well as rooms and suites overlooking landscaped gardens. Club Privé guests have access to a private Club House and Beach Club.
The resort features swimming pools, including one measuring 111 meters in length, and the Solara Beach club. The Anjana Spa includes 12 treatment rooms for men and women, steam and sauna services, and suites for couples.
Dining options at the resort include Terra Mare, Alâ Aksam steakhouse, Piazzetta Italiana, MykOrini, and People’s Restaurant, as well as Godiva Café.
Murjana Waterpark, located at the resort, is described as the first fully integrated hotel waterpark in Saudi Arabia, offering 11 water attractions, including Emerald Drop, Wave Pool Lagoon, and Murjana River Adventure pool, along with splash zones and family dining at Seafarer’s Catch.
The resort also includes the Rixy Kids Club and a Teens Club, both offering supervised daily activities, workshops, and play areas. Fitness facilities for adults include the Exclusive Sports Club, classes such as CrossFit, yoga, and TRX, and men’s and women’s gyms.
