Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino
The Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino is set to open on February 6, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for noon. Prior to the opening, invited guests will be attending a special event at 10 a.m. The rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd is slated to perform at 8 p.m., with tickets available for purchase on January 17 through Ticketmaster.com.
The Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino, owned and operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, is located west of Lake Okeechobee on the Brighton Seminole Reservation. The new resort is replacing the existing Seminole Casino Brighton, which first opened in 1980.
The new establishment will feature a casino with nearly 38,000 square feet of space, housing 640 slot machines and 18 tables for various card games. The hotel will be the first to open on the Brighton Seminole Reservation, offering 100 guest rooms, a fitness center and an outdoor swimming pool.
The resort will also include an indoor event space, a 10-lane bowling alley, and four eateries offering a range of dining options.
With more than 500 employees, the Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino is one of the largest employers in the Lake Okeechobee region. The resort is still hiring additional staff ahead of the February 6 opening.
The resort’s name, Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino, pays homage to popular sportfishing spots on nearby Lake Okeechobee.
