Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced its plans to establish its first property in the Dominican Republic. The new resort, Rosewood Punta Cana, will open in 2029 in collaboration with Grupo Puntacana. This significant addition will expand Rosewood’s global portfolio and strengthen its presence in the Caribbean.

The resort will be on 50 acres of prime real estate, including 400 meters of untouched beachfront. The design will reflect the local landscape and legacy, and the property will comprise 78 suites, including several overwater villas. The resort will also host eight distinctive dining venues ranging from a specialty restaurant to a beach grill.

At Asaya, Rosewood’s integrative wellness concept, guests will enjoy a variety of wellness experiences. The wellness center will comprise six treatment rooms, a hair and nail salon, a juice bar, an outdoor pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness studio. The resort will also feature a fully serviced beach, an outdoor sports facility, and indoor and outdoor event spaces.

Rosewood Punta Cana will be located within the Puntacana Resort, a 15,000-acre master-planned community with luxury residences, resorts, retail, and recreational facilities. Guests will access amenities like a PGA Tour championship golf course, a tennis center designed by Oscar de la Renta, an equestrian center, and an ecological reserve. The resort will also be conveniently located ten minutes from Punta Cana Airport, which offers direct flights from major cities across the United States, South and Latin America, Canada, and Europe.

Radha Arora, President of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, expressed enthusiasm about bringing Rosewood’s unique approach to the Dominican Republic, aiming to set a new standard for luxury hospitality in the region. Frank Elias Rainieri Kuret, CEO of Grupo Puntacana, echoed this sentiment, stating that the collaboration with Rosewood represents a commitment to excellence and a shared vision to establish the Dominican Republic as a premier luxury destination.

The opening of Rosewood Punta Cana in 2029 will mark Rosewood’s expansion in the Caribbean. It will join sister properties in Baha Mar, Bermuda, St. Barth, and Little Dix Bay, as well as upcoming projects in Barbuda and the Bahamas.
