Rosie O’Donnell is generally in the news these days for her views on American politics, but it wasn’t that long ago that the comedian was a staple on the talk show circuit.

The actress and comedian, who hosted The Rosie O’Donnell Show from 1996 to 2002, had endless celebrity guests on her program over the years. Many were musical guests who would take the stage and perform their classics. In an interview with the Guardian, O’Donnell was asked what the weirdest thing that happened to her onstage was. Her answer was a bit shocking!

“Meat Loaf french-kissed me [on The Rosie O’Donnell Show]. Well, we were doing that song ‘Paradise by the Dashboard Light’ and he put me in a dip, and then he kissed me with his tongue. I was like, what the hell is going on? And it was live TV, so I didn’t quite know what to do,” O’Donnell recalled. “So I looked up and I was like, “OK! Uh, Meat Loaf … We’ll be back right after this!”

To make the incident even weirder, O’Donnell shared that she then received a letter from the legendary rocker’s mom.

“It was just something. And then his mother wrote me and said, ‘You can’t be mean to my son. He’s a lovely man, and you embarrassed him.’ I’m like, well, I’m sorry that I didn’t want to be French-kissed by him without warning,” O’Donnell recalled.

O’Donnell is on a Weight Loss Journey

Back in May, O’Donnell posted a photo of herself doing standup, and shared that she had been using an injectable prescription medicine called Mounjaro, which had caused her to lose weight. According to the Lilly website, the medication is used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

“I can’t believe this is me now #mounjaro #weightloss #bodydysmorphia,” O’Donnell wrote.

O’Donnell went into more detail in a March TikTok video, sharing why she had started taking the medication. She also noted that, in addition to starting the medication to deal with her health issues, she had been spending more time cooking for her child, Clay.

“I’ve lost more weight. I am on Mounjaro for my diabetes, and one of the side effects is that you lose weight,” she explained. “But it’s also because I had a chef for over two years in Los Angeles, and I don’t have a chef now. It’s me cooking for Clay and me.”

“I’m one of those people who’s always had a weight issue and now that I’m a size large, instead of an XL or a XXL, I find it shocking. I really do. I find it completely shocking,” O’Donnell continued.
