Royal Air Maroc is set to launch a new nonstop flight service connecting Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) in Casablanca on June 7, 2026. This development represents the first direct air link between Africa and the U.S. Pacific Coast, facilitating an 11-hour connection between the two cities.

The service will operate three times a week: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight from Los Angeles, designated as AT251, will depart at 10:20 a.m. and arrive in Casablanca at 5:25 a.m. the following day. The return flight, AT250, will depart Casablanca at 4:00 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 8:20 a.m. local time.

This new route is being introduced in response to rising demand for intercontinental travel, particularly ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The service is expected to cater to the Moroccan and African diasporas, as well as American tourists, business travelers, and soccer fans traveling from Morocco, Africa, and Europe to the United States for the event.

The flights will be operated on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This addition aligns with Royal Air Maroc’s strategic development plan, which includes expanding its fleet, opening new routes, and enhancing both international and domestic services.

The introduction of the Los Angeles route further strengthens Casablanca’s role as a central hub connecting Africa, Europe, and the Americas. This move is part of Royal Air Maroc’s broader strategy to expand its long-haul network and enhance its presence in North America. The airline currently serves several North American cities, including New York, Washington, D.C., Miami, Montreal, and Toronto.

By adding the Los Angeles route, Royal Air Maroc aims to complement increased frequencies on other strategic long-haul gateways, such as Miami, Washington, D.C., São Paulo, and Dubai. This expansion is also a strategic move ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco, Spain, and Portugal will co-host.
