Russell Crowe has a lot of big things in the works, including a wedding and a potential Oscar contender!

The acclaimed actor, 61, took the stage at the Zurich Film Festival on Saturday to accept the Golden Eye Award for Lifetime Achievement, and revealed his slimmed-down frame. The star, who is preparing for his upcoming nuptials to fiancée Britney Theriot, 32, stood at the podium and spoke candidly about his love of filmmaking. Looking dapper in a gray suit and glasses, the actor was significantly slimmer than in recent years, which many attribute to Theriot’s influence.

“Ultimately, when I go to work, I take your expectations as an audience with me because I want to touch your heart. I want to open your mind. I want to thrill you. I want to scare you. I want to confront you. I want to make you cry, and I want to make you laugh. And I want to celebrate humanity with you and for you. You are the reason I go to work,” he shared with the crowd. “Thank you very much.”

When Did Russell Crowe Start Slimming Down?

Crowe was spotted looking noticeably more svelte at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club back in early July. Joined by Theriot, the actor ditched his typical scraggly beard for a dapper black suit and plaid tie with aviator sunglasses. His gray hair was slicked back, and his beard trimmed, and he looked particularly healthy due to the significant weight loss.

But Crowe’s slimdown was particularly on display earlier this month when the couple headed to the premiere of Nuremberg at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. Crowe sported a dark suit with a pale blue shirt and tie, and capped off the look with a trimmed white beard, tinted aviator sunglasses, and his gray hair slicked back. Theriot went for a gray dress embroidered with stunning white floral details.
