Russell Crowe is shutting down “clickbait” coverage of his recent autograph signing outside of a Paris hotel, where, despite tending to every single person vying for his attention, per his own report, recent media coverage appeared to paint him in a negative light.

Video of the encounter in question was originally published by TMZ, which showed the Nuremberg star using some harsh, blunt language to expertly draw order to the crowd of folks awaiting him as he left the building.

The actor quoted a since-deleted social media post from the news outlet, calling their description of it “clickbait” as he shut down reports that he left anyone empty-handed.

“Everybody got their autograph and selfie, the passage to the hotel was kept free for guests, and I still got to the airport on time,” he quipped, noting how everything went smoothly despite having no security to back him up. “What’s your problem?” he added.

The outlet’s original post included footage from the incident in question, in which Crowe was captured laying down the law for those itching for his signature.

As he exited his hotel, before he signed a single piece of memorabilia, he called for everyone’s attention and requested, “Stay where you are [and] don’t f- – king push in on me—I’ll come to you. Give everybody space, because as soon as somebody’s a dick, I’m gone, you got me?”

Several voices off-camera could be heard agreeing, “Yes, Sir,” before he got to work, signing methodically down the line.

His fans online felt that the interaction was overall “very professional and courteous,” sharing their respect for the actor for “accommodating everyone” even though many appeared to be there “just resell the items,” noting, “Feels like the high road to me.”

However, according to Entertainment Weekly, the publication originally implied that Crowe “was absolutely not having” the crowd gathering to see him and did not consider “fans [to] always [be] priority No. 1.”

His methods may not be considered PC, but he still managed to get the job done!
