Actress Salma Hayek, whose newest film Without Blood premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 8, had an even bigger reason to celebrate this month, as her daughter Valentina turned 17 years old on Sept. 21.

In honor of the special day, Hayek took to Instagram to share a detailed tribute showing how much Valentina has grown over the years, from a little girl with face paint making funny noises in the car to a teenager ready to take the next big step in life.

“My baby last birthday at home (for now) Im already having separation anxiety,” Hayek wrote. “She makes me laugh all day, teaches me so many things, keeps me motivated, inspires in so many ways makes me want to dance sing and cook and makes life so exciting I love you sooooooooo much mi Vale 💋🙏♥️.”
