The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for two products sold at Loblaw stores.

On Friday morning, the CFIA recalled President’s Choice Mediterranean Sea Salts (360 grams) and Himalayan Pink Rock Salts (390 grams) due to the presence of plastic pieces.

The impacted products have best-before dates up to and including January 17, 2026.

The Himalayan pink salt’s UPC is 060383182885 and comes with an attached salt mill. The PC Mediterranean salt product has a UPC of 060383976552 and comes in similar packaging.

President;s Choice products can be found at various Loblaw Companies Ltd.-owned food stores.

The company owns chains like T&T, Valu-mart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Zehrs, No Frills, Your Independent Grocer, Fortinos, Freshmart, Provigo, Maxi (including Maxi and Co.), Atlantic Superstore, Atlantic Save-Easy, Super Valu, Dominion in Newfoundland, Real Canadian Superstore, The Real Canadian Wholesale Club, Extra Foods, Shop Easy Foods, Lucky Dollar Foods and, of course, Loblaws.

This recall came less than two months after the recall of Sifto brand Hy·Grade salt due to metal pieces. As a result, several baked goods prepared using the affected salt were also pulled off shelves.

You may return recalled food products to a store for a refund or throw them out. Don’t use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products.
