There’s something so celebratory about popping open a bottle of sparkling wine, whether that be champagne, prosecco, cava or some other form of bubbly (non-alcoholic versions, too). That simple “pop” gives an ordinary Sunday brunch a festive vibe. I’m not sure why, it just does (hey, I don’t make the rules).

But a tasty sparkling wine can be expensive, which is why those that like to imbibe every once in a while turn to places like Costco, Trader Joe’s, Aldi and Sam’s Club for more affordable options. And it just so happens that Sam’s Club has a 1.5 liter bottle of their own Member’s Mark sparkler that shoppers absolutely love. And the price? It’s incredible.

Sam’s Club’s Member’s Mark Sparkling Wine is $7.38 for a 1.5 liter bottle, so that’s basically two bottles in one oversized package. It’s described as boasting notes of white stone fruits with a slightly floral taste, and Sam’s Club suggests it pairs well with “sushi, sashimi, oysters, scallops and chicken.”

With all of the merriment of the holidays coming up, you may need a bottle or two to bring to a party. Bringing the equivalent of two bottles of bubbly to a soiree for under $8 is a major score. Everyone loves a budget-friendly beverage.

What Customers Are Saying

Sam’s Club shoppers are overwhelmingly shocked by how good the Member’s Mark Sparkling Wine is considering their price, and many admit having serious skepticism at first in their reviews. The only real problem customers seem to have with the wine? It can be difficult to find in stock because it sells out so quickly. Other than that, it has folks toasting its deliciousness.

“I picked up a bottle of Member’s Mark Sparkling Wine at Sam’s Club, and wow—what a hidden gem,” wrote one person in their review. I recently enjoyed it celebrating with a group of friends on a beautiful evening out on the patio, and it was absolutely perfect. The bubbles were crisp, the flavor was light and refreshing, and it set the tone for a fun and lively evening. It has the perfect balance of bright citrus, subtle fruitiness, and just the right touch of sweetness—not too dry, not too sweet, just right!”

They went on to say that it paired well with a cheese board they made, as well as the seafood appetizers they served guests.

How to Make the Most of Your Sparkling Wine

When it comes to serving sparkling wine, the right glass makes all the difference. Traditional flutes are a classic choice because their tall, narrow shape helps preserve bubbles and keeps each sip lively. If you want to enhance the aromas, though, a tulip-shaped glass is even better—the wider bowl lets the wine open up, while the tapered rim still maintains the fizz. Avoid wide coupes because while they may look glamorous, the bubbles vanish way too quickly (I learned this recently during a champagne tasting on a cruise). Ultimately, choose a glass that balances elegance with function, so every pour of bubbly feels celebratory and tastes its absolute best.
