The Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority and Hilton have commenced construction on a 444-room Signia by Hilton hotel in Savannah, expected to open in mid-2028.

The Savannah-Georgia Convention Center Authority, in collaboration with Hilton, has started the construction of a new hotel, Signia by Hilton Savannah, which is scheduled to open in 2028. The 444-room facility will serve as the headquarters hotel for the Savannah Convention Center. The project is a joint development with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, which also manages the convention center.

The hotel will be located on the riverfront campus of the Savannah Convention Center. It is designed to enhance the convention center’s capacity to host meetings and events. The development follows the opening of a similar property, Signia by Hilton Atlanta, in 2024, marking an expansion of the brand within Georgia.

The hotel will feature over 34,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 13,000-square-foot ballroom. Additional amenities will include five food and beverage outlets, an outdoor pool, and Club Signia, which offers enhanced services for guests. The hotel will be directly connected to the convention center, providing convenient access for attendees of events and conferences.

Songy Highroads and Matthews Southwest Hospitality are co-developing the project. The hotel aims to cater to both business and leisure travelers with its modern design and amenities. The development is part of Hilton’s strategy to expand its presence in key markets, with the Savannah property joining other Signia by Hilton locations in cities such as Amman and Indianapolis.
