Scandic Hotels will convert the Scandic Grensen in Oslo into Norway’s first Scandic Go hotel, expected to open in the first half of 2026.

Scandic Hotels has announced plans to introduce its Scandic Go brand in Norway by converting the existing Scandic Grensen hotel in Oslo. The rebranded hotel is set to open in the first half of 2026, marking the debut of Scandic Go in the Norwegian market.

The Scandic Grensen, located in downtown Oslo, will undergo a transformation to align with the Scandic Go brand, which targets the economy segment. The hotel features 96 rooms and is situated near key cultural attractions, including Karl Johans gate, the Norwegian Parliament buildings, and Oslo Cathedral.

The conversion is part of Scandic Hotels’ long-term growth strategy, aiming to expand its offerings in Norway. The Scandic Go brand is designed to provide affordable urban accommodations with smart design and self-service options.

Upon completion, the hotel will be certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, consistent with the majority of Scandic’s properties. The introduction of Scandic Go in Oslo is intended to meet the growing demand for economy accommodations in the city.
