Netflix’s next foray into rom-coms takes us to Italy where a single father has his own Under the Tuscan Sun moment when he heads to a picturesque town to stop his daughter from possibly making the biggest mistake of her life. What is La Dolce Villa about?
Successful businessman Eric Field (Scott Foley) travels to Italy to stop his daydreaming daughter Olivia (Maia Reficco) from restoring a crumbling villa. But Italy has different plans for him as it delivers on its legendary promise of beauty, magic and romance.
“His initial determination—to save his daughter from making what he believes would be a huge mistake in purchasing property in Italy—turns out to be a sort of second chance at happiness for Eric, in so many ways!” says Foley about his character, Eric Field.

Where was La Dolce Villa filmed?
La Dolce Villa was filmed in Italy, specifically in Rome, eastern Lazio, and Tuscany. “I’d go back to Italy this afternoon to shoot another project,” said Foley of filming in Italy.

Scott Foley (Eric Field)
Scott Foley is best known for his roles in Felicity, Scrubs, and Scandal. His wife is Polish actress Marika Dominczy who starred with him in the short-lived spy series, Whiskey Cavalier. Dominczy’s sister is also an actress and is married to fellow actor Patrick Wilson. Other credits include Grey’s Anatomy, Scream, House, and Undateable.
Maia Reficco (Olivia Field)
Reficco’s family moved to Argentina when she was only four years old. Her love of music and performing landed her the lead role in the Nickelodeon Latin America series, Kally’s Mashup. She later starred as Noa Olivar in Pretty Little Liars.
Violante Placido (Francesca Pucci)
Violante Placido has primarily appeared in Italian language projects, but she did star in the 2010 film The American opposite George Clooney as well as the 2011 Marvel film, Ghostrider: Spirit of Vengeance. Placido comes from an entertainment family. Her father is actor-director Michele Placido and her mother is actress Simonetta Stefanelli.
