In Brief: Hilton has appointed Sean Clancy as general manager of the 1,190-room Hilton San Diego Bayfront, placing him in charge of day-to-day operations at one of the city’s largest convention hotels.

Hilton has appointed Sean Clancy as general manager of Hilton San Diego Bayfront.

Clancy will oversee hotel operations, guest experience, team member engagement and commercial performance at the San Diego property.

He joins Hilton San Diego Bayfront with more than three decades of hospitality leadership experience, including leadership of large-scale resort and urban hotel operations.

Most recently, Clancy served as vice president and general manager of a San Diego waterfront resort, where he oversaw the property’s repositioning following a $127 million renovation.

Clancy has held senior leadership roles at hotels in Miami Beach, Philadelphia and San Diego. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years with Hilton in leadership positions at the Arizona Biltmore and Boca Raton Resort & Club, both of which were branded as Waldorf Astoria resorts during his tenure.

Clancy has also served on the boards of the San Diego Working Waterfront, the San Diego County Lodging Association and the Coronado Schools Foundation.

Hilton San Diego Bayfront is located along San Diego Bay, adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center. The hotel has accommodations, amenities, and meeting and event space.
