Marriott International has formalized an agreement with Danube Riverside d.o.o. Beograd to establish The Ritz-Carlton in Serbia, which is anticipated to launch in 2027. The Ritz-Carlton, Belgrade, aims to bring the brand’s high standards of service and design to the Serbian capital.
This project responds to Serbia’s growing importance as a destination for both business and leisure travel. Sandeep Walia, Chief Operating Officer, Middle East & Luxury, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International, highlighted its commitment to expanding its brands in Serbia and the wider region.
The Ritz-Carlton, Belgrade, will offer 193 rooms and suites, the Ritz-Carlton Club experience and two unique dining venues. Other planned amenities include an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and over 1,700 square meters of space for meetings and events.
Ivan Bošnjak, Director of Millennium Team and Representative of Danube Riverside d.o.o. Beograd expressed his company’s excitement about partnering with Marriott International. The hotel will be a key feature of a larger project that includes residential and office towers, a conference center, a marina, and a promenade, revitalizing the site of the former Hotel Jugoslavija.
The hotel’s location on Nikola Tesla Boulevard, near the Danube Riverfront, offers easy access to government institutions, the business district, Stark Arena, Sava Congress Centre and Belgrade’s old town.
