A number of Toronto hotels have just scored spots on one of the world’s most sought-after hospitality lists.
It’s been a good week for Toronto’s hospitality sector, as Forbes Travel Guide has just released its 2025 Star Award winners, and seven of the city’s swankiest hotels have earned a spot on the list.
This comes in the wake of the U.S. News & World Report release earlier this week, which positioned Toronto’s Four Seasons Hotel as the best in all of Canada, ranking above its sister locations in Whistler and Montreal, which also cracked the top five.
When it comes to Forbes, the award recipients spanned the Recommended, 4-Star and 5-Star categories, with a number earning additional recognition for their in-house restaurants and spas, too.
Recommended
The sole entry on the Recommended list is King West’s 1 Hotel, whose lush lobby and Flora Lounge earned points from inspectors, who also praised their rooftop bar, Harriet’s and in-house restaurants Casa Medera and 1 Kitchen.
4-Star
Both Yorkville’s legendary Park Hyatt and the Ritz-Carlton in the Financial District earned 4-star rankings on the list, which makes perfect sense. Both names are synonymous with “swanky” and are the types of places that we mere mortals can typically only visit for one $30 martini while imagining what a week-long stay must feel like.
The Ritz-Carlton’s TOCA Restaurant and Spa myBlend, as well as Park Hyatt’s Joni Restaurant, earned themselves additional 4-Star rankings, too.
5-Star
As for the creme-de-la-creme, it should come as no surprise that, on this list, too, the Four Seasons emerges the victor with a 5-star rating. The hotel’s spa also received 5 stars, while Cafe Boloud pulled in Recommended status.
The Four Seasons is in good company in the 5-Star echelon, with fellow ritzy lodgings Hazelton Hotel, the Shangri-La and the St. Regis also earning the distinction.
The St. Regis’ regal restaurant Louix Louis also garnered a recommendation on the list, while the Hazelton’s Spa by Valmont raked in 4 stars.
The 2025 winners show little change from last year’s list, which begs the question of whether it’s time for additional Toronto spots to get some well-deserved recognition.
Where are the flowers for city favourites like Bisha, Hotel X, or Sutton Place? Sigh. Maybe in 2026.
