Health Canada has issued a recall regarding several vitamins sold at Costco, Walmart, Pharmaprix/Shopper’s Drug Mart and other stores across Canada, which could potentially pose a serious risk to the health and safety of Canadian consumers.

The health product recall was originally published on July 19, 2024, and involves various products that may contain the presence of “metal fibres,” the federal health agency indicated.

The vitamins and supplements affected by the nationwide recall include:

  • Life Vitamin B Complex with Vitamin C
  • Life Prenatal Mutli-Vitamins 100 Tables with Folic Acis
  • Life Spectrum Prenatal Postpartum
  • Webber Naturals B50 Complex Timed Release
  • Webber Naturals Most Complete Multi Women’s 50+ One Per Day
  • Webber Naturals Vitamin B50 Complex
  • London Drugs Vitamin B100 Complex, Timed Release
  • Natural Factor Hi Potency B Complex
  • Natural Factors Revital X
  • VegiDay Vegan Organic All In One

Factors Group of Nutritional Companies Inc., the recalling firm, is working alongside Health Canada to ensure that the affected items are being properly removed from the Canadian marketplace.

In the meantime, Health Canada is urging Canadian consumers to “verify if your product is affected.” Furthermore, consumers should consult their healthcare provider prior o discontinuing use of the affected products, or for any health concerns. It’s also important to note that any health product related side effects or complaints should be reported to Health Canada.
