Following Ozzy’s “Back to the Beginning” show at Villa Park in Birmingham, England on July 5, Sharon told Pollstar, that her husband was in disbelief over the sold-out stadium.
“I had no idea that so many people liked me,” Sharon, 72, recalled Ozzy telling her, a notion she thought was a result of the rocker being in “his own bubble.”
Also during the resurfaced interview, Sharon shared her thoughts on the farewell show, noting that she considered it to be a “huge success.”
“It was the first time, I think, that anybody’s gone into retirement and done it, where the show is streamed and it goes to charity. So it’s the first time anybody has said goodnight like that, it’s the perfect way, when you’ve had such a long career, to end it,” Sharon stated, calling the concert the “perfect” way for Ozzy to say goodbye.
Just five days after the interview, the family announced Osbourne’s death on July 22. He was 76.
