Sheraton Nouakchott Hotel has opened in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, as the first Marriott International-operated and branded hotel in the country.

The hotel is located near key landmarks such as the Marché Capitale, the National Museum of Mauritania, Nouakchott’s beaches, and the city’s fishing port, and is a short distance from the desert.

Sheraton Nouakchott offers 200 guest rooms and suites, including two Presidential Suites, equipped with technology and Sheraton-branded amenities. The Sheraton Club is available to Marriott Bonvoy Elite members and Club guests, providing food and beverage options, amenities, and a private environment.

Dining options include two restaurants, a Lobby Bar, and a Pool Bar. Feast, the all-day dining restaurant, serves locally inspired and international dishes with seasonal ingredients, while Bene offers Italian cuisine. The Lobby Bar serves beverages throughout the day, and the Pool Bar provides drinks and light snacks by the outdoor pool.

Facilities at the hotel include an outdoor pool, a fitness center with separate floors for women and men, a hammam, a sauna, an outdoor tennis court, and a spa with three treatment rooms.

The property features more than 2,600 square meters of meeting and event space, including a Grand Ballroom, a Ballroom, and four additional meeting rooms. A Sheraton Community Table is located at the center of the hotel for informal meetings and remote work. The hotel also has a dedicated events team.

Sheraton Nouakchott hosts Gatherings by Sheraton, weekly experiences focused on enrichment, renewal, and local stories. Activities include Mauritanian mixology sessions with local mint tea and fruits, and storytelling evenings inspired by Saharan traditions.
