Even though it’s fun to buy LEGO sets based on your favorite franchises like Harry Potter or Star Wars, their “Icons” sets are also great builds. Any of LEGO’s sets are great if you just love building them, but the LEGO Icons sets include landmarks, vehicles, pop culture faves and home decor sets that are must-haves for fans. They can be super creative and gorgeous, making an amazing display decoration in themselves.
And the LEGO Icons Boutique Hotel set is one of these builds, which you can currently buy at Target for a cheaper price.

What Is the LEGO Icons Boutique Hotel Building Set?
Target is currently selling the LEGO Icons Boutique Hotel Building Set for $173.99, when it usually costs $229.99 on LEGO’s site. This luxury hotel has “turn-of-the-century European architecture,” giving it elegance beyond compare (even in LEGO form).
There are three floors to this hotel, all with fun details you can discover while building it. This set comes with a whopping total of 3,066 pieces to create your hotel, and once finished, it measures over 13 inches tall and 10 inches wide and deep. Because of the number of pieces and playability, this set is intended for ages 18 and up (most, if not all, LEGO Icons sets are).

This “immersive build” might have three floors, but it has five sections, including a roof dome and skylight. Builders get to “explore guest rooms, the penthouse suite, the lobby, the terrace and the staircase”; every little nook and cranny, because there are a lot of “hidden gems” to find. The fun part of this set, and why it has so many pieces, is that every intricate detail is made with decorations or bricks; there are no stickers in this build.
On top of the gorgeous hotel set, this build also comes with seven LEGO minifigures. They’re all characters who don’t have their own lore yet, so that’s up to you to create. These minifigures include a bellhop, a receptionist, a coffee vendor and a gallery owner, along with other hotel guests and staff that can roam the halls.

The LEGO Icons Boutique Hotel Set Has Some Rave Reviews
Again, this LEGO set is chock-full of tiny Easter eggs, including “fun references to previous modular builds,” since this build is celebrating 15 years of LEGO Modular Buildings. “Try to spot them all,” LEGO’s site says. So, even though this isn’t based on a beloved franchise, this set is definitely made for the longtime LEGO fans out there.
Speaking of, this build has been really well-received, with over 240 ratings and reviews on Target’s and LEGO’s websites and an overall 4.8-star rating. Between the eye-stopping colors—rich brown, pink and green bricks on the three floors—and luscious features, it’s easy to see why people like this build so much, even though it is on the more expensive side.
“As everyone is saying, this is a wonderful set. Details are awesome,” one shopper wrote in their review. “Using bumper car for top window, using head snake for balcony detail, gun for modern hand-door… If you love building and if you’re not into building, it’s still a nice addition for your LEGO collection…”
Another person wrote that it was an “exceptional model” that they were looking forward to for a while, and it lived up to the hype for them.
“There are so many things I like about this modular building…” they said. They said they love the minifigures it comes with, including the pull-along luggage, coffee cart and other accessories they can use. “I love this building so much, I’m 100% glad I bought it and would highly recommend it to others. This is a needed modular building for anyone’s LEGO city, to play with or to add to a collection.”
So if you love LEGO’s modular buildings or just want a gorgeous hotel set in your home, the LEGO Icons Boutique Hotel Building Set is worth checking out. Especially with Target’s current discount on it, it might be a great time.
