Gulf Hotels Group and Silva Gigiri Ltd have signed a memorandum of understanding for the Silva Gigiri Hotel & Residence on United Nations Crescent in Gigiri, Nairobi. The agreement is Gulf Hotels Group’s second hotel management contract in East Africa, following Ocean Paradise Resort in Zanzibar.

The $30 million project is planned as a mixed-use development with a hotel, branded residences, dining venues, spa facilities, wellness and fitness facilities, executive co-working spaces and a conference center for diplomatic, corporate and MICE events.

The site is adjacent to the U.N. Office at Nairobi and near embassies and global organizations. The development is intended to serve diplomats, expatriates, corporate executives and travelers.

Construction is scheduled to begin later this month, with a soft opening targeted for 2028. The development is planned to include approximately 250 units comprising hotel rooms, studios, one- and two-bedroom residences, and penthouses.

Following the memorandum of understanding, the parties are working to secure affiliation with a global hospitality brand and finalize hotel management and franchise agreements. The project is to operate through a third-party operating model.

Silva Gigiri Ltd operates the GLV Collection of boutique residences in the Gigiri diplomatic quarter. Gulf Hotels Group identified the Nairobi project as part of its 2026-2030 strategy to expand its third-party hotel management platform in Africa and the Indian Ocean.

The project targets LEED certification through eco-efficient construction and design practices and aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030 for sustainable urban development.
