Accor has signed an agreement to open Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah in Saudi Arabia by 2026. The hotel will be located within the Jabal Omar development, close to the Holy Mosque. The property will be the largest Sofitel hotel in the world, with 1,141 rooms and suites.
The hotel will consist of two towers, Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah North and Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah South, offering views of the Holy Mosque and the surrounding area. The development will include six dining venues, including all-day dining restaurants and a fine-dining destination. Additionally, the hotel will feature executive meeting facilities, fitness centers, and a Club Millésime executive lounge.
The project is being developed in partnership with Jabal Omar Development Company (JODC), a significant real estate firm in the Middle East. This collaboration aims to enhance the hospitality sector in Makkah and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on economic diversification and boosting tourism.
Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah is part of Accor’s strategy to expand its luxury portfolio in the Middle East. The hotel will integrate French and Saudi cultural elements in its design and services.
