Sol Arona Tenerife has reopened following a comprehensive renovation, marking the first hotel to be relaunched under the new SOL by Meliá brand concept.
Sol Arona Tenerife has reopened as the first property redesigned under the new SOL by Meliá brand concept. The reopening is part of a broader rebranding initiative that will be extended to additional properties in the portfolio, including SOL Lanzarote, SOL Sancti Petri, SOL Falcó, SOL Príncipe, SOL Puerto Marina, SOL Málaga Guadalmar, and SOL House Mallorca.
The transformation of Sol Arona Tenerife was completed through a partnership between Meliá Hotels International and Petra, an investment platform specializing in hotel assets. Petra acquired the asset in September 2023 and supported the execution of a repositioning plan valued at more than €25 million. The investment aimed to fully align the hotel with the new brand positioning across design and services.
The hotel has undergone a full renovation to reflect the new SOL by Meliá brand concept. The redesign includes spaces such as the All Tribes Playground, which features a chill-out zone, Sol Stage for live entertainment, an All Games Zone with arcade machines, and a bicycle service for guests.
The hotel’s food and beverage venues include Verbena, which serves a buffet; Papagayo, a pool bar; and Play Bar, offering a selection of cocktails, wines, and beers. Outdoor amenities feature an adults-only pool area, a children’s pool with slides called Slide Town, a dry play park, and Kidsdom, an activity space for younger guests.
The fully refurbished rooms offer increased space, interconnecting options, and a design focused on sustainability, minimalism, and functionality. Features include a Beverage Station for self-service drinks and a Cleaning Lab where guests can do their own laundry.
SOL by Meliá currently operates 52 hotels with more than 15,000 rooms across eight countries. The reopening of Sol Arona Tenerife is part of a phased approach, with additional properties in the portfolio scheduled to be relaunched under the new brand concept in the coming months.
