Knowles made the revelation in the comments on an Instagram post from model and musician Shaun Ross, who was opening up in a video about his experience with long Covid and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.)

In her comment, the “Cranes in the Sky” songstress wrote, “Sending u so much love and strength Shaun and to all in the comments struggling with the debilitating, confusing, and lonely symptoms of POTS !”

That’s when she revealed, “I got diagnosed with POTS, Sjogrens [a chronic autoimmune disease] and Mcas [Mast cell activation syndrome] in 2018 and really relate to not wanting your health to be your identity.”

“The good folks at [Dysautonomia International] were really an incredible resource for me and I feel really grateful for the spoonie community for holding me down during my times of complete uncertainty! Sending an abundance of love your way !”

Following Knowles’ vulnerable comment, Ross replied, writing back, “thank you so much Solange. You’ve known me since I was a teen and how energetic I can be. This definitely changed my entire outlook on so much.”

“I appreciate you so much,” he added to the singer-songwriter. “Sending love ❤️.”

In addition to Knowles’ supportive words, Ross also received hundreds of other kind comments, including a multitude of followers who thanked him for sharing his experience.

One commenter wrote, “Sharing your story is going to help someone else who’s curious or struggling with those same symptoms 🖤 You’re making a difference.”
