IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its luxury portfolio with the debut of the Vignette Collection’s SOUMA Hotel Lima, marking the brand’s first entry into South America. Nestled in Lima’s lively Miraflores district with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the hotel now welcomes bookings for stays commencing in March 2025.

Leanne Harwood, SVP and Managing Director of Luxury & Lifestyle Americas, IHG Hotels & Resorts, voiced her excitement about the new venture. She highlighted Peru’s rich cultural and natural beauty and anticipated the Vignette Collection’s growth in South America, starting with the SOUMA Hotel Lima. She added that the new property seamlessly complements the unique hotels in the Vignette Collection’s portfolio, which spans memorable destinations from Bangkok and Lisbon to Shanghai, Budapest, and Dubai.

The SOUMA Hotel Lima offers a distinctive guest experience featuring unique textures, aromas, flavors, and spaces. Inspired by the Pacaya Samiria Nature Reserve in Peru, the hotel’s minimalist, modern decor is accentuated with natural materials, creating a serene oasis amidst the bustling city. The 214 guest rooms, devoid of single-use plastics, are designed to evoke a sense of tranquility, featuring light wood, cotton, linen, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the rooms with natural light.

The Vignette Collection aims to offer a more authentic travel experience by blending each property’s unique identity with the brand’s collective vision. While distinct, each property is united through key hallmarks: Memorable Rituals and ‘A Means For Good’.

Memorable Rituals at the SOUMA Hotel Lima include twice-weekly sunrise yoga sessions and daily pisco cocktail tastings during sunset. Meanwhile, the A Means For Good initiative underscores the Vignette Collection’s commitment to responsibility and community engagement. SOUMA Hotel Lima is dedicated to sustainability, with its waste management practices and partnerships with waste processing companies to reduce waste and transform it into resources.

The hotel’s culinary offerings reflect Peru’s rich gastronomic tapestry, with three signature restaurants providing premier dining experiences. The hotel also boasts an expansive rooftop with a heated infinity pool, Bambu Spa offering a range of soothing treatments, and a 24-hour fitness center.

With the SOUMA Hotel Lima, the Vignette Collection has surpassed the halfway point in its initial goal to establish 100 open and pipeline hotels in 10 years. The brand’s one-of-a-kind properties are sprinkled across destinations like Thailand, the UAE, the UK, Australia, Portugal, and Greater China. Future openings include the Franciscana Hotel in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and The Gwendolyn in Oregon’s Willamette Valley wine region.
