Complaining about the cost of food can often feel like screaming into a vacuum, and dining out in this economy may feel like an impossible feat. But one of Quebec’s most iconic restaurant chains, St-Hubert, just announced a bold new initiative to help ease the burden of rising prices.

The beloved rotisserie chicken and ribs restaurant launched a revamped menu on October 8, specifically aimed at “helping customers navigate the current economic challenges” by bringing “more competitive and flexible pricing” to its tables, a press release says.

More specifically, St-Hubert is freezing the prices of all main courses and cutting prices by an average of 11% on over 100 menu items, including appetizers, drinks and desserts.

There are also four new lunch dishes available starting at just $12. Plus, there’s a new deal where you can add two sides — like an appetizer, dessert, or drink — to any main course for only $4 at lunch or $8 at dinner.

According to St-Hubert, this is not an excuse to take advantage of “shrinkflation” tactics. The press release promises there will be no skimping on portions or quality.

“Inflation hurts Quebecers, and many families are now forced to make tough decisions when it comes to spending on leisure and entertainment. At St-Hubert, we care deeply about our customers,” said the president of Groupe St-Hubert, Richard Scofield, in the press release. “We’re rethinking our value proposition to make it more flexible and accessible, so everyone feels like they’re getting real value for their money.”

Whether you’re dining in, grabbing takeout, or getting your meal delivered by one of their famous yellow cars, this new pricing model means you can still enjoy St-Hubert — a Quebec staple since 1951 — without stretching your budget.

The revamped menu is expected to be available throughout the entire St-Hubert network, including franchises.
