Sting has left his fans feeling worried after canceling a string of upcoming appearances due to an unspecified illness.

In an update shared via Instagram on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 21, the former Police frontman—or, more likely, someone with access to his account, based on the wording—revealed that his doctor had advised him to take it easy “due to illness,” leading him to drop out of the Bass Magazine Awards tomorrow, Jan. 23, and postpone a series of his own STING 3.0 concerts and other appearances.

The performances originally scheduled for Jan. 24 in Phoenix and Jan. 26 in Wheatland, Calif., have been rescheduled for June 1 and May 28, respectively, while his performance for the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th-anniversary concert on Jan. 25 has reportedly been pushed to May 29. It’s unclear if the entire production has been postponed or if he will now be performing separately.

“Sting sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to the fans for their understanding,” the statement concluded, while also confirming that previously purchased tickets would be honored on the new dates.

While fans all came together to send the “Every Breath You Take” singer, 73, their well-wishes for a quick recovery, they were also clearly worried by the vague health update.

“I’m not gonna lie my heart started beating so fast,” one admitted, sharing their initial fear that it was a more serious announcement before sending “Prayers of healing dear 🙏🏾.”

“You Got this! 🔝,” they concluded.

“This scared me I thought something serious happened to sting I was about ready to cry,” another agreed. “Get well soon sting and I’m looking forward to seeing your show in may in Oregon.”

“Please get well soon Sting ❤️‍🩹. Much love~,” someone else wrote.

“Time to rest,” another said simply, while another commented, “I wish you a speedy recovery, take care of yourself!🙏🏻❤️‍🩹🎸.”
