Frontmezzjunkies reports: Opening Week at the Stratford Festival 2025

Today, the Stratford Festival’s 73rd season officially launches with the opening of the first six of 2025’s 11 productions. And this theatre junkie could not be more excited. The festivities gets underway tonight, Monday, May 26, with the opening of Shakespeare’s As You Like It at the Festival Theatre. And I feel so fortunate to be in Stratford Ontario this week to take it all in.

Tuesday evening sees the opening of the musical Annie at the Festival Theatre. On Wednesday, the Avon Theatre officially opens for the season with Macbeth, one of my favorite plays of all times, followed by the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on Thursday. This musical is one I’ve never seen before and I’m thrilled to take it all in at the Stratford Festival.

Then it’s over to the lovely Tom Patterson Theatre for the opening of The Winter’s Tale on Friday. Closing out opening week on Saturday is Anne of Green Gables at the Avon Theatre.

Five more shows will open later in the season: Forgiveness, Sense and Sensibility, The Art of War, Dangerous Liaisons, and Ransacking Troy. Click here to check out more details about the 2025 season.
