  • Suncadia, a mountain resort community near Seattle, announces a $40 million growth and development plan.
  • The expansion includes renovating The Lodge at Suncadia, adding a new community hub, Suncadia Social, and expanding residential communities.

Suncadia, a mountain resort community 80 miles east of Seattle, has announced a growth and development plan worth over $40 million. This announcement comes as the resort celebrates its 25th anniversary and plans to expand its amenities and residential communities.

The development plan was initiated by a $4 million renovation of The Lodge at Suncadia, which was completed in May 2024. The renovation marked the commencement of a series of transformative projects to revitalize and expand the resort in 2025 and beyond. In late summer 2024, the resort extended its popular trail system and added a 455-foot pump track and playground at the historic Nelson Farm.

Suncadia’s Managing Director, Mark Thorne, expressed optimism about the planned developments. “As we celebrate Suncadia’s 25th anniversary, these transformative projects will enhance our community and create vibrant new spaces for our residents and guests,” he said.

The development plan highlights the creation of Suncadia Social, a lively community hub set to open in 2026. Suncadia Social will be centrally located, within walking distance of The Lodge, golf courses, fitness center, and spa. It will host various shops, including grocery, home goods, outdoor gear, restaurants, a wine bar, and a coffee shop. New paved pathways, shared green spaces, and communal firepits will complement the community hub.

The resort is also expanding its residential community with the development of The Residences at Suncadia Social, comprising mountain bungalows and rowhouses. This new neighborhood is already under construction and conveniently located just steps from Suncadia Social’s retail hub along the Porch Walk pathway.

Suncadia’s Chief Real Estate Officer, Jamee Smith, expressed excitement about the resort’s growth. “We’re so excited to grow the Suncadia community and add to the diverse offerings of Suncadia real estate. With so many destinations and offerings—golf, trails, spa, parks, pools, and more—Suncadia truly has something for everyone,” she said.
