Helena Christensen, who was a successful supermodel in the 1990s, absolutely wowed with her latest red carpet look as she attended the 2025 New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala at the David H. Koch Theater on Oct. 8.
The 56-year-old arrived at the star-studded event in a dress that drew the eye for multiple reasons. The completely sheer flowing pleated gown was white with dark stripes all over, and the way the fabric fell on Christensen created a sort of optical illusion effect.
To complete the look, Christensen decided on a curly hairstyle that was parted in the middle and fell to her shoulders. She went full glam with her makeup, rocking a red lip and dark eyeliner that made her eyes pop. For accessories, she wore sparkly dangling earrings and black strappy heels.
Many were wowed by the ensemble, with the social media account for The Zoe Report, founded by celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, including the look in a montage celebrating the night’s fashion.
Also mentioned in the post were Julia Fox and Sarah Jessica Parker, the latter of whom wore an elaborate black dress with fabric wings on either side. In the red carpet clip, Parker’s gown’s large wings hindered her ability to hold her husband Matthew Broderick‘s hand.

Christensen has been a major name in the world of fashion for years. In the past, she’s worked for Revlon, Versace, Prada, Chanel and more, and she was one of the original Victoria’s Secret Angels, alongside other models like Tyra Banks and Karen Mulder. She has continued to model over the years, and she often makes waves with her red carpet fashion.
Back in May, Christensen attended the Cannes Film Festival, wearing a light pink sequined gown with one side off the shoulder, while the other featured a large feathered addition. Going a step further, she had on huge jewelry in the form of dangling earrings and a statement necklace, while she added a matching clutch purse and heels.
A few months ago, Christensen opened up about her beauty journey in a revealing interview with Vogue, saying that she didn’t really get into skincare and makeup until she moved to Paris, France, in her 20s, “and everything sort of just exploded, all the catwalks, all the shoots.”
“This was in the ’90s. It was heavy makeup, four times fake eyelashes sometimes, where you could barely keep your eyes open,” Christensen went on, touching on the style of makeup that was popular back then. “And, of course, wearing that much makeup every day made your skin sometimes flare up or feel very sensitive.”
She concluded, “So, yeah, I discovered skin products out of necessity, basically.” Nowadays, when Christensen attends various fashion events or red carpets, fans can’t get over how ageless she looks, and her dedication to skincare might’ve played a part.
