Law & Order: SVU fans had mixed reactions after Kelli Giddish’s Amanda Rollins returned once again to the procedural series.
“A squad reunion you can’t miss,” the show—and Mariska Hargitay—wrote on the social media platform on the afternoon of Friday, April 4, alongside screencaps from the new episode. “All-new #LawAndOrder and #SVU — watch @nbc on @peacock.”

Fans, however, were torn by the statement. While some were fully hyped up by Giddish’s appearance, others argued that it didn’t really count as a reunion. Others still harshly corrected the term “can’t miss.”
Some begged for the series to “bring Liv’s bestie back” permanently, noting how the “squad chemistry was seamless with our girl Rollins back in the fold like old times.”
“What a great episode!” they added it, calling it one of the “Best of Season 26″—a sentiment others shared, too.
“Last night felt like old SVU when Kelli was a full time cast member everyone back together 🫂,” another agreed, as someone else suggested, “Amanda Rollins needs to come back. Great episode last night.”
Some, however, disagreed with the series and its star’s sentiment, with one simply declaring, “The only reunion I want is Benson & Stabler!”
“The only reunion I can’t miss is between Elliot and Olivia,” another declared, noting how “tired” they are of how much airtime former stars are getting over “the protagonist.”
“Why did they ever have her go just to come back occasionally?” someone else questioned. “Bring her back full time and Stabler full time! Give the fans what we really want! 🙌.”
