The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of the Taj Puri Resort & Spa, a luxury beachfront resort in Odisha. This marks its first venture in this revered coastal city. The resort is located along the Bay of Bengal, just a short walk from Puri Beach.

Puneet Chhatwal, the Managing Director & CEO of IHCL, expressed his enthusiasm about introducing Puri to the global luxury market. He believes this new resort will boost the tourism potential of the east coast of India, adding to IHCL’s existing presence in Chennai, Tirupati, and Bhubaneshwar.

The Taj Puri Resort & Spa features 90 rooms with panoramic views of the ocean and landscaped gardens. The resort’s design draws inspiration from local Kalinga architecture, and the interiors feature traditional stonework and Pattachitra art.

The resort offers various dining options, including Vista, an all-day dining restaurant, and Jaatra, a specialty restaurant serving a fusion of Odia and Indonesian cuisine. The Jaatra Bar offers a range of classic and innovative cocktails. The resort also has a 14,000 sq. ft. lawn for events and weddings, indoor banquet facilities, a wellness center offering traditional therapies, and a modern fitness center.

Ankit Tandon, General Manager of Taj Puri Resort & Spa, looks forward to welcoming guests to experience the unique Odia hospitality. He promises exceptional service and unforgettable experiences for every guest.

Puri is a significant spiritual destination. Home to the iconic Jagannath Temple and one of the four Char Dhams, it attracts millions of pilgrims each year. Apart from its spiritual significance, Puri’s golden beaches, festivals, and traditional crafts also appeal to travelers.

IHCL now operates six hotels in Odisha, with one more under development.
