Taylor Swift fans are pretty sure they know exactly what inspired the pop superstar when she rolled out a new dance move onstage over the weekend.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner was performing her third consecutive Eras Tour show in Toronto, Ontario, on Saturday, Nov. 16, when the move in question occurred.

As seen in fan footage shared on social media, Swift, 34, was performing “Midnight Rain” from her 2022 album Midnights when she made a rolling motion with both hands before aiming her thumbs one at a time over each shoulder. She was grinning the entire time, seemingly having a blast onstage as she executed the gesture that fans online believed they recognized.

Earlier this year, the “Cruel Summer” songstress’ boyfriend, Travis Kelce, made a similar move with his arms and hands while attempting to copy the choreography for Swift’s performance of another Midnights song, her hit “Karma.” Some Swifties shared side-by-side clips of Kelce and his girlfriend performing the move on X, formerly Twitter, as evidence for their theory that Swift was mimicking the Kansas City Chiefs tight end during Saturday’s show.

“She’s paying homage to her favorite backup dancer 😉🏈,” one fan tweeted, referencing the NFL player’s onstage Eras Tour debut back in June.

“I wonder what could have possibly inspired it 🤭,” one fan teased as another wrote, “mmm wonder who she got it from??? maybe a tall tight end who plays for the kansas city chiefs ?? you never know.”

“Seeing this scene in Toronto feels like a blast from the past Taylor really knows how to make every moment iconic. 🔥,” one X user declared.

“THIS GAVE ME INSTANT HAPPINESS 🥹,” another fan shared.

Following Saturday’s concert, Swift has three more scheduled dates in Toronto starting on Thursday, Nov. 21, before she takes her hit international tour to Vancouver for one final trio of shows. She is expected to bring her Eras Tour to an end in Canada on Dec. 8.
