Just because Ted Cruz is a vocal supporter of Donald Trump doesn’t mean everybody in his family feels the same way.

In a viral video, Cruz’s daughter Caroline, 16, made a disgusted face when her father praised Trump in his victory speech on Tuesday night after winning reelection in Texas.

“I hope and pray that Donald Trump will be reelected president of the United States,” the senator said.

As the crowd and Cruz’s wife, Heidi Cruz, clapped, Caroline frowned and raised her eyebrows before turning to her mother, appearing to say, “Don’t clap for that.”

Heidi, registering her daughter’s words, stopped clapping but continued to smile.

Many TikTok users found Caroline’s reaction both relatable and hilarious.

“Love her,” wrote one commenter.

“She is all of us,” declared someone else.

“Smart young teenager!” another fan raved.

“There is some hope for the new generation,” agreed yet another person, with an additional TikTok user calling Caroline their “spirit animal.”

According to Newsweek, Trump publicly insulted Heidi multiple times when he and Cruz competed for the Republican nomination in 2016.

When the National Enquirer ran an article accusing Cruz of having a number of affairs during his marriage, Cruz alleged that Trump planted the piece. Trump shared a meme on Twitter in response. The post featured a photo of Heidi alongside a pic of Melania Trump alongside the message, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

However, Cruz went on to endorse Trump and has since been a consistent supporter.

In 2021, Caroline made a TikTok video saying she disagreed with the majority of her father’s views before making her account private.
