Potts Deli has a second standalone location on Rossler Avenue, but try the one inside Buffalo’s famous Broadway Market. It’s one of those “if you know, you know” type places that will make you feel like an instant local. In the market’s back corner, near the deli counter, this Polish specialist serves pierogies stuffed with sauerkraut or farmers cheese, Polish sausage, and czarnina (a sweet-sour soup of broth, dried fruits, vinegar, and blood, traditionally from poultry or pigs). In the springtime, leading up to Easter, Broadway Market brings in vendors from around the city, making it a great time to visit.

Know before you go: For the quickest meal, bring a friend and plan to divide and conquer. One person can order at the deli, while the other saves a spot in line.
