Back in June, frequent travellers on the AmsterdamLondon Eurostar were greeted with some bad news – due to major renovations taking place at Amsterdam Centraal Station, it was announced that the service was paused.

Why do some renovations matter so much to the service, you ask? Well, it’s because thanks to Brexit, border controls must now be carried out at the station, and while the works were going on there was no space to do so.

But excitingly, we now know when the services will be back up and running. Eurostar announced this week that the London-Amsterdam service will resume on February 10, 2025. And that’s not all there is to be hyped about.

While the work won’t be fully completed, the renovations mean that there will be significantly more space at the station to board more passengers, meaning an extra 200 seats on the service once it relaunches. That will be increased again ‘somewhere in the spring’, according to NL Times

Yep, soon 450 people will be able to board in Amsterdam to head to London, up from the previous 250 – sounds like these upgrades were worth the wait.
