Toronto foodies, get ready for a treat!  The Bear star, Matty Matheson is bringing the heat with a pop-up at TIFF Lightbox for 10 days, celebrating his new cookbook, Soups, Salads, Sandwiches.

“I’m popping up at @tiff_net starting October 10,” Matheson captioned an Instagram post announcing the event. “Come check out some soups, salads, sandwich exclusive merch, @mathesonfoodcompany sauces and Mac and @mathesoncookware pans, salt and peps. We’re here until October 20 Toronto! See you soon!”

As if that wasn’t fantastic enough, mark your calendars for October 20 when he’ll hit the stage with Tom Power from CBC’s Q  for an exclusive onstage car, tracing his rise from sous-chef at the iconic Le Sélect Bistro to a superstar restaurateur and chef and Emmy-winning star of The Bear. Expect tales of his favourite recipes, creative influences and his groundbreaking work with The Bear series creator Christopher Storer and co-stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri.

While the pop-up is free to check out, make sure to grab tickets for the book launch on October 20. Regular tickets get you a seat and a pre-signed copy of his book, while VIP fans can snag a meet-and-greet with Matheson and a personalized book signing. Soon enough, you’ll be whipping up standout dishes like giant meatball soup in beefy tomato broth, griddled salami panzanella salad, banana bread French toast with fried egg and cannellini bean and kale soup with lots of shallots.

If you can’t make it to the event, don’t worry—you can still dive into the deliciousness at Matty Matheson’s Toronto restaurants, including Prime Seafood Palace, Matty’s Patty’s and Cà Phê Rang.

Grab your tickets, as they include a book that’s ready to be picked up at the TIFF Lightbox on October 20. Additional copies will be available for purchase on-site.
