Lunar New Year officially kicks off next Wednesday, January 29, and while the holiday is celebrated perhaps most famously in China, it is also observed in South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, and a plethora of other Asian countries. As Eater writer Nadia Chaudhury explains, each country has its own culinary traditions as well, “Dumplings bring wealth,” she explains, “Noodles represent longevity and happiness. Fish is eaten to increase prosperity.”
