If you weren’t aware, at we just love the city. The bright lights, busy streets, packed calendars of gigs, exhibitions, pop-ups, and all the amazing places to eat – there’s simply nowhere better.
But sometimes, just sometimes, you need a little break from all that. Nature is good for the soul, after all, and strolling through some nice green space can really turn your day around.
Freepik has analysed Google reviews of 2,300 green spaces across the world’s 100 most popular cities to create a ranking of cities with the highest number of green spaces, as well as their popularity.
Topping the ranks is Tokyo, which has an impressive 159 green spaces dotted across its metropolis – that’s more than double the number of parks in the runner-up city, London, which has 78.
That’s quite a lot to explore – maybe check out Tokyo’s roundup of the best parks and gardens across the city. Yoyogi Park, dubbed Tokyo’s answer to Central Park, and Ueno Park, which should be awash in pink now that it’s cherry blossom season, are two solid places to start.
We’ve also for a list of the best parks and green spaces in London, which includes icons like Hyde Park, Hampstead Heath and Clapham Common, plus many more.
In third? That would be Paris, with 63 green spaces which include the Luxembourg Gardens and the Bois de Boulogne. Read on for the top 20, and check out the study on Freepik’s website.
