After several wonky years due to the dissolution of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the COVID-19 pandemic and the Hollywood strikes, the Golden Globes seem to finally be back to their old charm. Known as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year” the boozy star-studded event that honors the best in TV and film is returning to its old glory (but in a hopefully less problematic way) in 2025. The 2025 ceremony hands out awards to movies and TV shows released in 2024, with many big names taking home trophies.
Bright and early on Dec. 9, 2024, Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the list of nominees for the 2025 awards, which per usual included plenty of Hollywood A-Listers. Now the winners are finally being announced.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 Golden Globes, including the winners, nominees, host and more.

Who is hosting the 2025 Golden Globes?
Hot off of her viral Tom Brady roast, Nikki Glaser will be the host of the 2025 Golden Globes. When announced as the host, the comedian said, “It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows, but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God I hope so). It’s an exciting, yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes).”
After the debacle last year where Jo Koy crashed and burned during his opening monologue, Glaser will hopefully be a welcome return to form.

Where are the 2025 Golden Globes?
While not officially announced yet, the Golden Globes are traditionally held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
What was the latest Golden Globes controversy?
In recent years, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA)—the voting group behind the Globes—has been called out for not having a single Black member in its ranks and accused of accepting bribes to promote certain productions and stars. Early in 2023, when the event sold to Eldridge Industries and Dick Clark Productions, the HFPA was shuttered altogether. The fate of the Golden Globes then seemed up in the air as reports surfaced that its new owners were having trouble finding a network or streamer to host the ceremony. Eventually, the show landed at CBS where it remains.
